Prasiolite (AKA green amethyst) is so named after two greek works. 'Prason' meaning 'leek' after the colour of the vegetable and 'lithos' meaning stone. Maybe the idea of wearing a leek rock around your neck doesn't amuse you as much as it amuses us but this pale sage green stone is a favourite for sure.
